Can Do Learners is a tutoring company for K-8 kids who find school harder than it should be. Families come to us for reading, writing, math, and spelling. They stay because we also work on the executive functioning underneath it, meaning how a kid gets started on something hard and keeps track of it once they do. Our educators are certified teachers with years in the classroom behind them, and many hold special education credentials. We started in Denver, and we are now working with families across Boulder County.
Which is why we would like to introduce ourselves the easy way. Bring your kids to Sweet Cow on Front Street on Friday, September 11th, any time between 3:00 and 5:00. Ice cream is on us for the kids. We order by RSVP, so tell us how many are coming and nobody misses out.
Who You’ll Be Meeting
Abby Belasco is a National Board Certified Teacher who spent 14 years teaching elementary school in Superior with BVSD before founding Can Do Learners. She knows the schools your kids walk into every morning and a good number of the teachers in them. She is also a mom of two neurodiverse kids, so the homework standoffs and the IEP meetings that run long are familiar territory.
What to Expect
A couple of hours at an ice cream shop with other local families. Every kid on the RSVP list gets a scoop, plus some room to run around. You get to ask the questions that have been sitting in the back of your mind since school started.
Abby will share how the Can Do Mindset works in practice. It is the approach Can Do Learners uses to turn everyday academic frustration into something a kid can handle, and it usually shows up as confidence long before it shows up on a report card.
Who This Is For
Any family with a school-age learner, and especially families whose kids find the school day harder than it should be. That covers ADHD, dyslexia, autism, executive functioning struggles, and plenty of kids who have never had a label at all. Siblings of every age are welcome.
