Is your middle schooler struggling with organization, managing their time, or staying focused on tasks? These are common challenges related to executive functioning skills, which are crucial for academic success and everyday life. At Can Do Learners, we understand these hurdles, and we’re thrilled to announce a new program designed to equip your child with the tools they need to thrive!
We’re excited to introduce our Executive Functioning Masterclass, specifically tailored for middle schoolers and their parents. This intensive program will help students develop essential skills foundational for everything from completing homework to planning long-term projects. The Masterclass also features simultaneous sessions for parents that ensure the skills learned carry over to the home. Just like chores can build skills such as planning, task initiation, and self-monitoring, our workshop provides a structured environment for growth.
The Executive Functioning Masterclass features ten 60-minute sessions, held conveniently at the Sam Gary Library starting September 3rd through November 5th, you and your student will gain practical strategies and techniques in key areas, including:
- Time Management: Mastering the art of prioritizing tasks, estimating time, and sticking to schedules.
- Organization: Learning effective systems to keep track of assignments, materials, and information.
- Goal Setting: Developing clear objectives and actionable steps to achieve them.
- Flexible Thinking: Adapting to new situations and problems with resilience.
- Problem Solving: Approaching challenges strategically and finding effective solutions.
- Effective Use of Technology: Harnessing digital tools to enhance productivity rather than detract from it.
Sessions will be held at 5:30 PM on Wednesdays starting September 3rd for 10 consecutive weeks. Sessions for Parents and Students are held simultaneously, but are separate. The cost per session is $100, for a total of $1000 for the full Masterclass.
