MiCHELLE CARDONE SLATER
Michelle is an occupational therapist with over two decades of experience working with students of all ages. Her focus has been supporting diverse learners to improve their ability to access curriculum and performance in school. She is a researcher and contributor to the publication, Body Activated Learning Handbook: A Sensory Based Program to Support Attention and Engagement in Children.
With certifications and training in Sensory Integration and Praxis Testing (SIPT) from Spiral Foundation, Vision Skills Training, Listening Programming, Structured Reading and Handwriting Curriculums, her dynamic background influences the way that she assesses and works on Literacy Skills. With this holistic and comprehensive approach, student outcomes have shown in progress monitoring and goal attainment that working on the foundational motor skills of literacy, students have made significant shifts and progress with their reading and writing skills influencing classroom performance, student empowerment, and graduation rates.
Michelle is working directly with Can Do Learners to oversee the vision and motor portion of their program.
